Favorite Mac Utilities for Teaching

Here's a bunch of tips rolled into one: all my favorite Mac utilities for teachers:

This video (which I made in my former life) is a lineup of 5 free utilities (plus one tool that's built into Mac OS X) that are great for anyone who teaches with their Mac.  Here they are:

Manage Displays from the Menu Bar: Go to System Preferences --> Displays --> and check "Show displays in menu bar"

Caffeine: Keeps your display on and screensaver off with 1 click.  Available from the Mac App Store, or directly from  Lighthead Software.  Here's a similar utility with the same name for Windows users.

Cinch: Automatically resize windows to full screen or half-screen.  Check out Cinch on the Mac App Store, or at Irradiated Software.  They also have a product called SizeUp if you'd like Cinch-like capabilities with keyboard shortcuts.

JumpCut: Saves up to 40 text clippings for pasting later.  Available on SourceForge (with information and release notes).  Download directly by clicking here.

Dropbox: Keep files in your Dropbox folder in sync on Macs and PCs (2 GB free), and access those files from iPhone, iPad, Android, and in the browser.  Sign up for a free account here.

InsomniaX: Keep your Macbook running with the lid closed.  Be careful with this one: your laptop can get very hot, and could cause damage!  See the developer's site for more info, or just download it now.
